This panoramic photograph of Montréal was taken by James Blakeway. It features an early morning view of Montreal with its view of historic and modern buildings. In the distance is Mount Royal, the hill for which the city is named and a location with spectacular views which the city and many of its attractions. The area along the river is known as Old Montreal and retains its historic character with its largest concentration of 17th, 18th and 19th century buildings.
