Madison, WI Skyline Picture with Frame Madison, WI Skyline Picture with Black Metal Frame
This panoramic photograph of Madison was taken by James Blakeway. Madison, the capital of Wisconsin, lies between the lakes of Mendota, seen in the distance, and Monona in the foreground. Along the right shoreline is the Frank Lloyd Wright designed Monona Terrace Community and Convention Center with the Wisconsin State Capitol to its left. At the far left is the University of Wisconsin-Madison and Camp Randall Stadium. Founded by James Duane Doty in 1836 in the newly created Territory of Wisconsin, Madison was named after President James Madison. Governmental operations and the University of Wisconsin-Madison, account for much of the city’s prosperity.
